Mrs. Jeanette Payne, 89, of Holmdel, N.J. passed away suddenly at her home on Monday, March 19th, 2018. Born in Bronx, N.Y., she worked for the Ted Bates Agency in NYC prior to moving to Long Island, N.Y. where she lived for many years. She was an avid reader and an excellent cook who enjoyed playing Mahjongg and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her parents Mario and Clelia Amadei, and by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Robert Tissot Payne. Surviving are her daughter Barbara and her husband Jim Shangle, her grandchildren Jessica and Robert Shangle, her brother-in-law Alan Payne, and many cousins. Visitation will be at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. on Sunday, March 25th, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, March 26th, 2018 at St. Catharine R.C. Church, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel, at 9:15 A.M. Interment will then follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y. In lieu of sending flowers, donations made to the North Shore Animal League, 25 Davis Avenue, Port Washington, N.Y. 11050, in memory of Jeanette would be appreciated.
