Barbara A. Higgins, 76, Hazlet, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Barbara was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. She graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to receive her AA in Business Administration. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant at the famous F.W. Woolworth Co. Executive Offices in New York City for 40 years, retiring in 1995 and moving to Hazlet to be closer to family. Barbara’s greatest passions were traveling and spending time with her family, who adored her. She always gave freely of herself and her time, putting the needs of others before her own. Truly an amazing woman! Barbara also took great pride in her Roman Catholic upbringing and Irish heritage. She enjoyed everything Irish. St. Patrick’s Day was always a fun celebration for her and her family. She was a kind, gentle, and caring person immensely loved by her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Barbara was predeceased by her loving parents Marie C. and Robert Higgins. She is survived by her loving sisters, Regina and husband Thomas Kobylanski; Mary Ann and husband Robert Fitzgerald; and loving brother Gerard and wife Maryann Higgins; her loving nieces Jennifer Kobylanski, Michele and her husband Daniel Glazer, Robyn Fitzgerald, Cheryl and her husband Nicholas Wong, Maureen and her husband Richard Piotrowicz, her loving nephews Robert Fitzgerald and Matthew and his wife Alison Kobylanski, loving great nieces Madison Fitzgerald, Molly and Darcy Glazer, Caitlin and Leah Wong, her great nephew Ryan Kobylanski, and beloved family pets Maxie and Buddy. Family and friends are invited to gather Sunday, March 18th, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, and again on Monday morning March 19th beginning at 10:00 A.M.
