Obituary of Salvatore P Spagnolo
Salvatore Spagnolo of Cream Ridge, NJ passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 with his wife and family by his side. He was born in Brooklyn on January 25, 1935.
Sal attended Pratt Institute and the New York School of Visual Arts where he trained to be a fine arts and graphic designer. He worked at several advertising agencies and insurance companies in California, New York City and New Jersey throughout his career. Some of the companies he was employed by were McCann/Erickson, where he met his beautiful wife, Grey Advertising, Columbia House/Sony, and Met Life.
Sal’s hobbies and passions were fishing, crabbing, target shooting, drawing, painting, and playing the guitar. Sal loved to travel. He has driven cross country three times in his life. He also loved going shopping, to the opera, to the beach, and watching mystery and horror films and science documentaries.
It’s never easy to say goodbye to the ones we love. Our beloved Sal was the epitome of a kind hearted, gentle, and strong loving man. He was an incredibly talented artist and a tremendous husband and father to his wife and children. His grandchildren, nieces and nephews will surely miss his loving cheer. His faith in the Lord was unwavering and family was everything to him. Sal is looked up to and loved by so many people. We will miss Sal dearly, but we are comforted by our wonderful memories and know that he’s in heaven with the Lord.
Sal is preceded in death by his father, Angelo, mother, Angela, brother Frank, and two sisters: Lily and Rose. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Josephine, two daughters: Christina and Jennifer, two son in laws: Peter and Tom, four grandchildren: Sean, Jamie, Kylie, and Jocelyn, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister in laws, and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733 from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Gabriel’s Church, 100 N. Main Street, Marlboro at 10:00 am. Burial service will follow directly after the funeral.
