Helga Brand, 90, Naples, Florida, formerly of Holmdel, passed away peacefully at her home on January 29th, 2018 with her family and caregivers at her side. Helga immigrated from Germany to the United States in 1953, newly married to her husband, Karl H. Brand on January 26, 1953 to start a new life together. Helga was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother that enjoyed life to its fullest. She especially loved her friends, all of the people she’s met over the years, loved a good joke and of course her New York Rangers, Jetkins and the Metkins. Helga was an expert needle pointer who created many works of art that adorn her home in Naples and the New Jersey home of her son, Karl and daughter-in-law Barbara and grandson Karl Jeffrey. Helga enjoyed cooking, gardening her many flowers, orchids and fruit trees and entertaining for the many guests that visited throughout her life in her homes. She also enjoyed playing golf and traveling the world with her husband, Karl, who were married for 54 years prior to his passing in 2007. Helga was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey, in 1982 whose memory was kept close to her heart always. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 3rd, 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Helga will be privately interred with her husband, Karl and son, Jeffrey H.
