Gloria V. Burke 89, of Holmdel passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, NY Gloria was a longtime resident of Holmdel Township where she worked as a receptionist in town hall. She was the President of the P.T.A., member of the Kiwanis Club, and volunteered at Bayshore Community Hospital and Bayshore Health Care Center. Mrs. Burke was a parishioner of St. Benedict R.C. Church as well as a Eucharistic Minister. She was predeceased by her husband Francis X. Burke in 1998. Surviving are her children Peter, Stephen, Vincent, Gerard, Anne, and Thomas Burke, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 to 8:00PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday 10:00AM at St. Benedict R.C. Church 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Interment will be in the Holmdel Cemetery.
