The passsing of Bill is a very sorrowful time for me. I first met Bill at Bell Labs in Murray Hill in 1962, and we remained friends and colleagues since then. Bill gave me great guidance in my BTL career, and was always willing to help in documentaion of various radio experiments. Such sad news. Bill was my first boss. His vast and deep knowledge in the field and his hands on management style will always be my guide. Bill hired me while I knew nothing about multi-path propagation. I¹ll always remember and be graceful to Bill. Bill WILL be sorely missed -- I had been holding out hope (and with some prayers) that Bill would once again overcome a significant adversity... But as you know, our Father 'does know best' even when things don't seem to compute as WE might see them. We remain instructed to pray for each other. He’ll be missed” is an understatement to say the least. Bill was my supervisor at Bell Labs for a number of years and a good friend even longer…greater than fifty years. Aside from his wealth of knowledge of the radio studies in which he engaged, he was always understanding and considerate of his fellow colleagues and those reporting to Bill. Personally, I have much for which to be thankful to Bill; for his confidence in my ability to undertake various tasks associated with our radio activities. Thanks to Bill, he provided me with numerous opportunities to further my career and to continue my work here at AT&T. I repeat again that Bill will be missed by all, especially by myself. Rest in peace my dear friend and may your family take consultation that you are now in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
