Obituary of Mary M. Weldon
Mary Van Fleet Weldon, 89, of Holmdel, N.J. died at home on Sunday, October 26. Born in Bernardsville, N.J., she was a graduate of St. Elizabeth's College, and attended SUNY Downstate Medical School where she met her husband of 62 years, James Weldon. With her husband and nine children, she moved to Holmdel in 1961, to a home affectionately known as Bedlam on the Bluff. Mrs. Weldon was predeceased by her husband James A. Weldon, M.D. in 2010. She is survived by her three sons, James, and his wife Kerry, John, and William, and his wife, Sharon; and six daughters, Mary Ann Yannuzzi, and her husband, Raymond, Kathleen Weldon, Patricia Mehlem, Maureen Hellmann and her husband, Timothy, Eileen Oates, Anne Weldon, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ, on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 6-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00AM on Friday, Oct. 31 at St. Benedict R.C. Church 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Interment will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Marlboro. Donations made be made in her memory to Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, NJ or St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Benedict's Parish, Holmdel, NJ.
