Obituary of Mary J. Carson
Mary J. Carson, 96, of Tinton Falls passed away at Jersey Shore University Medical Center on Friday morning, October 11th, 2013. She was born in New York, N.Y. Mrs. Carson was a founding member of the Association for the Multiple Impaired Blind Inc. She was a Braille instructor for Volunteers for the Blind. For many years she transcribed textbooks into Braille for visually impaired students. She was strong in her Catholic faith, and served as a Eucharistic Minister to the home bound. Mrs. Carson was predeceased by her husband Kenneth in 2002, by her daughter Mary Carol Carson in 2009, and by her 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her 2 sons Kenneth and his wife Clare, and Mark and his wife Eileen, by 2 daughters Cecilia Skove and her husband John, and Louise Carson and her husband David Daugherty, by 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, and by her many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 – South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, on Monday October 14th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at St. Catharine R.C.Church, 108 – Middletown Road, Holmdel at 11:00AM. . Interment will then follow at the Holy Sepulchere Cemetery, East Orange, N.J.
