Obituary of Agnes A. Davey
Agnes Ann Vratoric – Davey, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at her home on February 18th, 2015. Born on February 9, 1919, she was the only child of George and Ann Vratoric in Marion, Ohio. Agnes was educated in the Martins Ferry, Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia public school systems. She was employed as a supervisor for the Marx Toy Company in Wheeling. She met her husband Arthur while he was serving in the Navy, in Norfolk, Virginia. The couple married on October 3, 1953 and then resided in South Amboy, N.J. until 1974. During those years, Agnes was a member of St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, and Catholic Daughters of America. She also volunteered as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts of America. Agnes moved to Holmdel in 1975 and enjoyed being a member of St. Catharines parish, the 50 Plus Club, and Half Century Club. She was Vice President and Treasurer for Dependable Fuel Oil Company for 38 years. Agnes is survived by her husband Arthur F. Davey, Sr., former Mayor of Holmdel, son Arthur Francis Davey, Jr. and his wife Patricia Taylor - Davey, daughter Darlene Ann Davey – Vitoroulis and her husband Evangelos Vitoroulis, granddaughters Deanna Marie Vitoroulis and Danielle Ann Vitoroulis, and grandsons Arthur Francis Davey III and Adam John Davey. Visitation will be on Sunday February 22nd, 2015 at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday February 23rd at St. Catharines R.C.Church, 108 – Middletown Road, Holmdel at 9:15 A.M. Interment will then follow at the Holmdel Cemetery.
