Obituary of Lottie Hedwig Donahue
Lottie Hedwig Donahue, of Colts Neck passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. She was born and raised in New York City's borough of the Bronx. A graduate of Bird's Business Institute, she was executive secretary at The Adams Group, Inc. (formerly Guide-Kalkhoff-Burr) New York City for more than 25 years. She resided in the Vailsburg section of Newark with her husband, Andrew J. Donahue, prior to their move in 1973 to Colts Neck. She left the corporate world shortly thereafter to be a homemaker as a well-aligned home and garden were crucial to her wellbeing. She was the recipient of many awards for her horticultural specimens and for her miniature floral designs. She was a member of The Woman's Club of Colts Neck and member of Garden Club R.F.D. in Middletown for more than 25 years. She was charter member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of Retired Policemen and Firemen's Association of Ocean County. She was also a member of the Officers' Wives Club at Fort Monmouth and life member as surviving spouse of Military Officers Association of America. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Colts Neck and member of Martha Mary Guild at St Mary's Parish. Daughter of the late Anthony and Hedwig Czerniewski she was predeceased by Andrew in 2006, her beloved husband of 48 wonderful years, sister Irene Martin and brother Thaddeus 'Ted' Czerniewski. She was the loving Aunt of Susan Moran and her husband Michael and their children Michael Andrew and Alexandra of New York, NY; Carol Buckley and her husband Dennis and their children Meghan and Patrick of Wilton, NY; William Martin and his wife Aileen of London, England; Theodore Czerniewski and his wife Kathleen and their children Lauren and Theodore of Mahopac, NY; George Czerniewski and his wife Christine and their children Katelyn and Emma of White Plains, NY; Thomas Czerniewski and his wife Svetlana of Fishkill, NY. She will be deeply missed by her loving family whose lives will never be the same without her. She was a special part of their world and has left behind countless wonderful memories that will continue to linger in their hearts. A service will be held on Tuesday at 1:30PM at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ where she will be interred with her husband. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holmdel Funeral Home, Holmdel, NJ.
