Obituary of Ellen Nachman
Ellen Nachman, 70, of Monroe Twp, passed away in Ft. Myers Florida on Tuesday Feb. 9th. Mrs. Nachman was born in Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny Ireland. She relocated to United States in 1967. She lived in Astoria, Queens until she married her husband David Nachman in 1969. They lived in Marlboro for 26 years before retiring to Williamsburg, Virginia. Two years ago they returned to Monroe to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Ellen worked for Bell Labs in Holmdel for 23 years before retiring in 2001. She was a parishioner of St. Gabriel's Church in Marlboro where she was very active. She loved to garden and collected antiques. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and good friend who always put others first. She will be dearly missed by all. Ellen is predeceased by her parents, Patrick Mahon and Ellen Foley; her brother, Edward Mahon; and her brother-in-law, John Darcy. She is survived by her husband, David Nachman; her daughter Tracy Hood and Christopher, Manalapan; her son, Charles Nachman and Michele, Brooklyn; her three sisters, Anne Darcy, Lynbrook, Long Island, Brenda Short and Robert, Manalapan, Mary Byrnes and John, Dahlonega, GA; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Cory, Aiden, and Liam. Visitation will be on Sunday Feb. 14th 6-9 pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, Feb. 15th, at 10 am at Historic St. Gabriel’s Church, 549 Rt. 520, Marlboro, NJ 07746. Interment will follow at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery.
