Obituary of Donald G. Murray
Donald Gordon Murray 1/11/1928 – 3/28/2016 Donald Murray, 88, of Manchester, passed away on March 28th from natural causes. He was surrounded by family members who provided love and comfort during his very peaceful departure. Don lived a very full life. He was happily married to his late wife, Shirley Murray, for 45 years until her passing in 1998. Years later, he met and married Jane (Harris) and they would have celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary this coming June. Don was known for always saying, “How could one man be so lucky to have had two such wonderful marriages!' Don was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Army, stationed in Japan from 1945-1946. He then worked as an electrician in Detroit, Michigan before moving to New Jersey to continue his profession in New York City for IBEW Local 3, before retiring at age 62. He was a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He will be missed but he is now at peace with the Lord. Don is survived by his wife, Jane Murray, his two sons, Doug and Scott and daughter-in-law Marianne, grandchildren Carlee, Jack and Allie Murray, step children Kathy and Ralph Anderson, Patricia and Richard McKenna, Chris and Sharon Harris and their children Brad, Brian, Maggie, Jenny and Kelsey. He is also survived by his brother Ken Murray. He would want us to remember, “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but rather by the moments that take our breath away!” Visitation Tues.
