Marsha, Matt and Laura, Growing up with Paul during grammar school, we had many great adventures. We had so many good times it would take a book to share them with you. We were shocked to hear of his passing. We are deeply sorry for your loss and hope your memories of him will help you get through this difficult time.

Dear Laura and Matthew, I was so shocked and saddened to hear of your father's passing. I have fond memories of your Dad growing up and his love for (what seemed to me at the time) very "loud" classical music and all of the fun boat outings! My Mom and Dad would like to personally extend their love and condolences, but we are all down in GA for the holidays. My Mom always said what a nice man your father was and always a gentleman. May you find comfort in knowing that your father is now at peace and pain free. His spirit will live on in you and through the special memories you shared. All of our love and condolences, Dorothy Cavanaugh, Karen and Elmer Bahrenburg

Matt & Laura, We are so sorry for your loss and you have our hearts during this sad time. Paul was a great man and he is in all of our prayers. I knew him for years as Matts Dad, but then I found out that we both worked at AT&T. We would see each other in halls and at lunch and we had some great conversations. He will be missed. Lea, I worked with Paul and while I never knew your name, Paul talked about his "girlfriend" often. He shared photos of your trip to Italy which he loved. My heart goes out to you during this very sad time.

Matthew, Laura and Marsha, I am so sorry to learn of Paul's passing. We were colleagues at AT&T and traveled to New Orleans for a company recognition award in 2001. Over the years, Paul and I had many long conversations about politics, retirement and life in general. His sudden and swift illness just does not seem fair. He was a pleasure to talk to and I was grateful to have him as a friend. May your happy memories comfort you during this difficult time. Sincerely, Donna Irlbacher

Met Paul when Lea and I went to a "Singles dance" some twelve years ago. Paul and Lea became a "couple" almost immediately and sustained that great relationship until his departure. I remember him as a polite, "low key" man and devoted to Lea and her family. This was, I think, a once in a lifetime relationship and the word missed is surely not enough. I am unable to attend the services, but will always be there for Lea and her family.

In the Fall of 2007 I ran for a local political office on LI. One day a contribution arrived in the maiil, from an unfamiliar address in NJ. It was Paul. Though we had fallen out of touch a bit - which happens - here was my friend, wishing me well. I lost the election, but it gave me cause to call Paul (early 2008). We talked politics, taxes, US History, of course NYNEX, post-NYNEX, family, more politics. He and I never had short conversations, I regret it would be our last. Paul, in a word - class.

Dear Lea and Family: I know this is a terrible loss for all of you. I suppose the only piece that helps lift the saddness is knowing that Paul is no longer suffering. Sometimes it is so difficult to understand life. I wish you the strength to carry on and keep your memories safe and alive. cookie
