My father passed away this Saturday and I reconnected with a mutual friend yesterday. I lost contact with Phil after going off to college. We were both from Bayonne, grew up in Matawan together, graduated MRHS in 1972, and played together in a band [The Chessman] for many years. Just heard of his passing and am deeply saddened by this. I know it has been 10 years but just came upon this site today. Condolences to all his family. He was a great guy and I will always remember our times together.

I was shocked and deeply saddened upon hearing of Philly's death. I just heard about it this morning (7/15) from a mutual friend on facebook, of all places. It is horribly ironic, as I was recently searching facebook to try and re-connect with him and other buddies from the past. Philly and I were long-term friends, as I was with his brother Lenny, going back to grade school. We all played tennis together, and later softball and golf. My deepest condolences to his family and to Tish. May God bless you all and help you through this most difficult time. John Froehlich

Tish, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Phil. He loved you so. Although I have not seen Phil for awhile and spoke less than we both liked, he was always with me. As he will always be with you. When you advised me of his passing, we shared a humorous moment when we both agreed that there are so many Phil stories. I will cherish each of those stories more everyday as now they are in my Heart. The grief and loss you feel as well as what others feel right now can only be healed with time. Tish, I'm so sorry to hear about Phil. He was one of the better people I worked with in the Mountainside office. I enjoyed the days of golf I had with him, especially the Maloof, Liebowitz and Bubb outings. He never got too high or too low about anything. Phil was always a calming person to be around. We all will truly miss him.
