Rose Satz 86, of Colts Neck passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Rose was born on May 3, 1925, in the City of Newark, NJ. She graduated from Weequachic High School and subsequently served as a Navy Wave. Rose married her beloved Bill on Febraury 11, 1950 and they were devoted to each other for over sixty years until Bill's death in 2010. Rose moved from Elizabeth to Colts Neck in 1967, along with her five children. She was a long time parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Colts Neck. Rose was predeceased by her son Billy, and her brothers John, Jimmy, and Peter, and a sister Mary. She is survived by her children Peter, Maureen, Tommy, and Karen, niece and nephew Andrea and Steven, a brother Eugene, and sister Ann, of Maryland. Rose was an extraordinary wife, mother, and friend. She enjoyed the beach, fresh air, and Broadway plays. She had a zest for life and was stoic and strong in the face of adversity. Rose was a true lady and will be sorely missed. A Memorial Mass celebrating the life of Mrs. Satz will be offered Friday, July 22 at St. Mary's R.C. Church Highway 34 at Phalanx Road, Colts Neck.
