Obituary of John E Smith

John E. Smith 78, Tinton Falls, passed away Friday, March 18th, 2016 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Mr. Smith was born in Brooklyn and raised in the Bronx. He entered the U.S. Army where he served in Germany. He graduated from Iona College and became a Certified Public Accountant. He moved to Aberdeen in 1967 before settling in Bradley Beach. Mr. Smith was an avid Giants, Yankees, and Notre Dame Fan. He loved watching sports and took pride in his Irish heritage. He was a loving father and grandfather. Mr. Smith is pre-deceased by his parents, Michael Smith and Anne Lynch; his brother, Brendie Smith; and sister, Patricia Smith. Surviving is his children, Christina Smith, Jersey City; John Smith and his wife Jo, Tinton Falls, Suzie Smith, Aberdeen, Jeanne and her husband Joe, Aberdeen; his siblings, Thomas Smith, Whiting, Eileen Steinhauer and her husband John, Leonardo, Dessie Smith, Whiting, Rosaleen Teborsky and her husband Bill, Whiting; and his grandchildren, Rosemary, Jack, and Seton Smith, and Victoria, Elizabeth, and Olivia Mauro. Visitation for Mr. Smith will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday March 22nd at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:00 am Wednesday March 23rd at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, 50 Hurley’s Lane Lincroft with interment to follow at the Brigadier General William C.
