Joie Spurdis Sorrentino, 72, of Holmdel, died peacefully on 11/14/09 at Riverview Hospital. Born in NYC, she was a resident of Holmdel for nearly 40 years. She wore many hats. She was an actress, ballet school owner, realtor, owner of multiple businesses and an active community advocate serving terms as President of the Holmdel Historical Society and working with the Holmdel Recreation Dept. Many knew her as “The Angel of Holmdel” due to her hard work relating to preserving historical artifacts. Beloved by her family and those she made feel were a part of her family, she loved all unconditionally. Predeceased by, husband, Thomas Sorrentino in 2002. Survived by brother Anthony Spurdis, Kearny, daughters Suzy Daniels wife of Chris, Fogelsville, PA, Zoe Vivino, Freehold, and Leslie Gregoire wife of Jeff, Holmdel, grandchildren Devrin, Max and Tyler Vivino along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial service to be held Saturday 11/21 at Holmdel Funeral Home 26 S. Holmdel Rd. in Holmdel from 12-2pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Habitat for Humanity (www.habitat.org).
