Julia Dalm

Obituary of Julia K. Dalm

Julia K. Dalm, age 82, of Colts Neck entered into God's care on Friday, August 6th, 2010, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, with her loving family by her side. Born in Glendale, New York in 1927, she was the youngest of four daughters born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Klos. Julia is predeceased by her sisters, Caroline Greulich and Louise Azukas, and by her husband, Charles H. Dalm, whom she married in 1950 and with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage. Prior to marriage, Julia worked as an administrative assistant for AT&T / Bell Laboratories at the West Street offices in New York City. Shortly after her marriage to Charles, Julia devoted herself to raising her family, which would include five daughters, and one son. She would ultimately relocate to Colts Neck with Charles in 1961, and raise all six children in their warm and inviting home. Julia and Charles were devout in their Catholic faith, sending five children to St. Rose of Lima Elementary School in Freehold, and six children to Red Bank Catholic High School. Julia was a devoted member of St. Rose Parent Teacher Organization and active in the Martha Mary Guild at her parish of St. Marys' in Colts Neck. Julia's home was always active with the sounds of laughter and many plates being placed around the kitchen table – where there was always room for one more, whether it be for family, friend or neighbor. Julia's greatest legacy was the bonds she created within her family. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Caton, and husband Milton Caton of New Hyde Park, N.Y., daughter Karen Engan of Freehold Township, daughter Patricia Dalm-Moreland and husband James Moreland of Middletown Township, daughter Joann Zayne and husband Paul Zayne of Eatontown, daughter Ellen Earl and husband John Earl of Tinton Falls, son James Dalm and wife Linda Dalm of Eatontown, and daughter Kathleen Sager and husband Darrell Sager of Colts Neck, and by 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, P.O.Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN. 38105, Tribute # 26375430 For information, directions, or to post a condolence to the family please visit www.holmdelfuneralhome.com
