Edward Lowy 80, of Union Beach passed away Thursday at home. Born in the Bronx, NY he moved to Union Beach over 30 years ago. Edward graduated from the Polytechnic Institute in Brooklyn, NY with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1952. Mr. Lowy worked as a Computer Consultant for AT&T in Basking Ridge, retiring in 1994. Mr. Lowy was a member of the New York National Guard from 1950 to 1959, and was also a 26 year member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Sayreville, NJ, and Former Captain in the New York City Coast Guard Auxiliary. Surviving are his wife Karla Lowy, 2 sons Mitchell and Neil Lowy, sister Lilyan Richter, 3 grandchildren Alisa, Neil Jr., and Jessica, and great granddaughter Hailey.
