Anthony J. Garito 80, of Colts Neck passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at home. Born in Matawan, Tony lived in Colts Neck for the past 45 years. Mr. Garito worked as an Electrical Lineman for Jersey Central Power and Light Company in Old Bridge. Tony was an active parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Colts Neck and was also active in the Colts Neck Sports Foundation where he was a coach for all his sons' teams. Mr. Garito was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He was predeceased by his parents Nicolo and Maria Garito, and a brother Joseph Garito. Surviving are his wife of 56 years Arlene Garito (nee Gold), a son AJ and his wife Cara, of Colts Neck, 3 daughters, Cynthia Parenteau and her husband Charles, of Colts Neck, Catherine Ahlers and her husband Dave, of Freehold Twp., and Cheryl Joyce and her husband Richard, of Freehold Twp., a brother Elario Garito, 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00PM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, in the Spiritual Center, Colts Neck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday 9:00AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Colts Neck. Interment will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Marlboro.
