I am so sorry to have learned Chris's passing. He and I trained together in Hartford with Smith Barney 20 years ago and since his last name was a K and mine an L we roomed and sat next to each other during the training. Being from Iowa and sitting next to Mr. GQ, I was quite intimidated with how well he was dressed! We had not talked in 3 years and I was going to try and get together with him on a trip I have planned to NY next month. I will miss him and his great voice!

He was the most wonderful man I've ever known! An original. A giving heart. A man who devoted his time to those in need. A devoted man to love, politics, movies, and the kitchen to name a few. A true neighbor. A true friend. A real man!! A driven man in the work force and in life. The light shines deep within his soul and all who had the privledge of knowing Chris Kelts were the lucky ones. I will forever miss him, his face, his voice, his charisma, his love for Luca (who he is certainly Cuddling with once again) ....I will miss him always and forever! God bless him, his family (whom he loved so very much) and his horses! Go get'em tiger!! I love you!

I am so profoundly and deeply crushed by the loss of Christopher. He is a saint to me and many others who had the privilege of knowing such a beautiful soul. Christopher (Puffin) was and always will be my best friend in the world and my family. He taught me so much as i grew in this city. We shared our love for the animals, especially With Baby Luca, Dante, Sir Wrinkleson and Yoshi Catz. Chris's highlight of the day was early morning runs along the Hudson as Luca loved catching up with the fishermen to see if they had any fresh bites on the line! Visits to the dog park, he called them (Dog park days) The most loving, caring man to all his neighbors and friends. A true gentleman whom i shall miss greatly and deeply forver. I'll miss cook offs and his sauce. I always said you aught to bottle that sauce,he loved to cook up a storm in the kitchen. Chris had the greatest sense of humour and we would laugh until our tummy's hurt.He had a knack of cheering everyone up and turning that frown upside down as he would say. A gutt wrenching and heartbreaking loss. I will deeply miss Chris and hold him in my heart and mind forever. A true original.

I am deeply heartbroken and shocked by the news of Chris's passing. Chris was like an uncle and mentor to me. We got to know each other while I interned for him during the summer of 2003 at Smith Barney. Not only did Chris show me the ropes and teach me valuable skills which became the foundation of so many of my successes, but we developed a true bond. A special brotherly friendship in which continued from that summer on. Chris was truly a wonderful guy, when he spoke to people, he would make them feel great about themselves. He would speak to you as if his time with you was special and would make sure you knew it. Reflecting on all of the great experiences we shared together, I will truly miss him and his voice.

Chris was a part of my family. He was a mentor, older brother, was in Alabama when my dad passed, and attended my wedding in New Orleans. He was more than the family financial manager, he was and will always be family. I will always remember him and have a hole in my heart. He was a person I could lean on and always was there. My family is devastated and nobody will replace his kindness. RIP

There was so much love in his heart for his family, friends and his dogs. A soft soul who navigated a hard world with grace, compassion and kindness. We spent many mornings together watching our dogs play together which brought him great joy as those loving canine eyes looked up into his. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

For as long as I knew Chris, the first thing he would ask me, whenever we would speak is..' 'How are your kids doing?'...and he would always remember what we discussed about my kids, on our prior calls. He had a real fondness for my oldest daughter and my son. They would visit us often ,when they were young, in our office at Smith Barney. Chis always showed real interst in their growing up and I think he took some joy in how proud I was of them. Chis had a special bond with my son, based on a comical occurence. When we decided to do a Triathlon together, my family and Chris, all rented a Condo out at Montauk Pt , the night before the race. My son at that time, was young and a bit mischeviuos. It came to my attention after the race, as told to me by Chris, that he did not sleep at all before the race, because my son was shooting spit balls at him, throughout the whole night. Yet I never heard Chris raise his voice at my son. That was Chris. Always happy and a real joy to be around. I do know however, that Chris was so sleep deprived, that he forgot his sneakers as we packed and headed to the transition area at the race. A guy next to us, overheard Chis freaking out that he forgot his running shoes. The guy reaily offered Chris a pair of sneakers. Little did we know that the guy did not have an extra pair.!! Comically, we both saw the same guy on the run portion of the race, heading toward the finish line and the guy was running barefoot. We could not stop laughing. As always, because of his good looks , Chris drew the stares of many of the women in the race. And as it would have it, a female competitor, ran up to Chris, as he headed up the hill, toward the finish line. She asked Chris, in stride, if he would run with her to the finish line, so she could have her picture taken with him!! He slowed down and they crossed the line together. Her friends were all there and they took numerous photos!! If only she knew, what a great guy she had just finishe the race with. I am terribly saddened to have lost a true, dear friend. He was a freind to my children, who both liked him immensely. He was one of the few people, who I considerd a kindred spirt. I was jealous of his warm smile and his calm demeanor. In my years of knowing him, not once, did I ever hear anyone, utter a negative word about him. He was simply that special. God Bless you Chis ...I will miss you terribly.
