Obituary of Jean Agatha Castano
Jean A. Castano died on thursday July 2nd 2009 at the Laurels Health and Rehabilitaion Center in Peckville Pa. She was surrounded by her loving family.Jean was born on November 18th, 1927. she grew up on the Eith farm, that was owned by her family on Staten Island. After graduating from Port Richmond High School, she was employed as a bookeeper at the Rubsam and Horrman Brewery and the Redi Kilowatt Utility company. Jean married Thomas Castano on September 24th, 1949. Jean was a homemaker when her children were small and then was employed as the church secretary of Our Savior Lutheran Church in West Brighton, of which she was a member. .She later worked for Hilton Hotels. In 1981 she and Tom moved to Middletown New Jersey.She enjoyed the natural surroundings of her backyard, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, as well as caring for the many wonderful pets that surrounded her. Jean was predeceased by her parents Anna E. Borgsteade Eith and Christain Eith. Her husband Thomas died in March of 2005 and her brother Robert Eith died in August of 2008. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Christine Ackerman and her husband Walter of Roscoe New York, her daughter Jeannine and her husband Michael Fogler of Nazareth Pennsylvannia. Jean has three loving grandchilden, Jeremy Ackerman , Michael C. Fogler and Anna Rose Fogler, all of Pennsylvannia.
