Obituary of Robert Edwin Liebenow
Robert Edwin Liebenow of Holmdel died March 2 2016 at the age of 77. He was born in Orange NJ, the eldest son of Edwin and Doris (Wester) Liebenow. He attended Red Bank High School graduating in 1956. He enlisted in the US Navy from 1956 to 1959 as an Internal Communications Specialist serving on the USS Independence and USS Intrepid. Bob was employed at Bell Labs as a draftsman and then at Snap-On Tools as an Industrial Tools Salesman for 25 years. He retired from Snap-On in 2000. He was a life-long member of the Holmdel Community United Church of Christ and was active in the church choir for over 50 years. He also served as a volunteer fireman for the Holmdel Volunteer Fire Company No. 1. Bob is survived by his wife Lynn (Kissel); son Jim and his wife Debbie of Sellersville, PA; daughter Jana and husband Alex Cardone of Virginia Beach, VA; five grandchildren Jonathan, Ellen, Ann, Christopher, and Casey. He is also survived by his sister Lois Zarra her husband Michael of Holmdel, William and his wife Janice of Holmdel and Donald and his wife Lesley of Trinity Florida. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 9 at the Holmdel Community United Church of Christ, 40 Main Street, Holmdel.
