Obituary of Claire S. Laughlin
Claire Laughlin died peacefully on November 1, 2010 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. After 86 wonderful and happy years, Claire went to live with the Lord. She was born September 2, 1924 and grew up in Lawrence Harbor and lived in Keyport and Holmdel for many of her years before moving to Neptune in 2001. She graduated from Keyport High School in 1942. She and her husband Frank were the proud owners of Bayshore Stationers, a office supply and greeting card store in Keyport for 42 years. She was active member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Hazlet, NJ, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Spring Lake Golf & Country Club, and the Jumping Brook Garden Club, which fulfilled her love for golfing and gardening. In all that Claire did, she lived, she laughed, and she loved. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Sarah Erickson, and by her son Glenn Laughlin. Surviving are her husband, Frank Laughlin of Neptune, her 2 daughters: Sharon Laughlin of Atlantic Highlands, and Carol Menges and her husband Lou of Holmdel, and her 4 grandchildren: Kelly Laughlin and Ryan, Matthew, and Melissa Menges. Also surviving are her 3 sister-in-laws, Mildred Laughlin of Keyport, June Zweiacher and her husband Norman of Keyport, and Audrey Mocci of Matawan. She will be missed by her friends and family, and will never be forgotten – always loved and always remembered! Visitation will be held Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9PM at The Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday 11:00AM at St. John's UMC, 2000 Florence Ave, Hazlet, NJ. Interment will follow at the Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.
