I am so saddened to learn, belatedly, of Carol's passing.
While it had been many years since we'd been in touch, I always think of her fondly. She was a caring, insightful and funny woman with a bright spirit who will be missed by all who knew her. All of my friends knew stories about "Sweater Carol".
She was an inspiration in how she created and lived a wonderful life. She acted on her convictions and passions. I remember when she bought her apartment in Hoboken and created a home for herself. How she loved horses and made the decision to get Indy. I remember how happy she was when Diane and Prakash got together.
My deepest condolences to Michael and her family.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Carol was one of my bosses and a friend, when I worked at RL. She was an amazing sweater designer, she had a quiet, quick inspiring talent. I'm glad we had a chance to know one another. I always enjoyed the time we shared together, our mutual love of horses and her very dry wit. She will be missed... RIP CAROL! xox Mandy :)

Carol was and always will be one of the greatest people I had the honour to work with. She was always so kind, so thoughtful, so dedicated to her work. She patiently taught me all about Knitwear, and was responsible for igniting a passion for creating Knits to this day! I was so sad to hear of Carol's passing, but I am so happy to hear she got married last year, and I know that her light shines on in all those lives that she touched. You will be greatly missed Carol. Sending all my love to Carol's family and friends. Laura x

I am so saddened to hear of Carol's passing... Carol was my 1st boss at my 1st career job out of college in NYC. When I was a bit lost and out of my element, she was always a calm guiding mentor. I loved Carol's passion and love for the work she did and had always admired her ability to take such a risk to jump into a field so different from her background and education just to follow a passion for knitting and master an entirely new avocation completely on her own. I am pleased to know that she spent her last days surrounded by the love of family and friends. I pray that the celebration of her life will bring peace and that her memory might be eternal.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Carol's passing. My sincere condolences to Michael and the Covingtons. I met Carol on my first day of work so many years ago, when I first moved to New York City. She was my first guide and mentor in NYC and in the world of Polo. I will be ever grateful for our years of friendship, spanning decades and job changes. I will always remember Carol's jubilance and delight when talking of her horses, her niece and her life with Michael. May you find some solace in this difficult time. - Maria

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your wonderful daughter Carol. Carol was such a special member of the Lauren team for many years. Not only did she have artistic talent she had a wonderful work ethic, a can do attitude, a respect for everyone in the workplace and was instrumental in much of the success we enjoyed at Lauren. Carol was kind and open minded. She was also so very strong during her illness, trying to contribute and being selfless despite what must have been both painful and frightening. She was very much missed when she was no longer able to work but had to dedicate herself to staying well. Not having known her family or friends outside of work I hope you all know how much joy Carol brought us and I hope you are strengthened by warm memories of her. Wishing you peace through this difficult time and the holiday season Kim Roy

May Carol's bright light and remarkable sense of humor live on. I have such fond memories of working with Carol. From her love of horses,to the birth of her nieces ..whom she adored, to the early dates with Michael where you could just see her falling in love everyday...Carol was a wonderful human being and a gifted designer. No doubt she will be watching over her loved ones with the same loving spirit that she had on this earth. Sending love and healing prayers to Michael and family. My deepest condolences.

I was so saddened to hear of Carol's passing, and I express my sincere sympathy to her family. I worked closely with Carol at Ralph Lauren for a number of years and can only say she was really one of the "good ones". Carol was talented, kind, and always someone that I could rely on. I had the pleasure of traveling with Carol and enjoying after work dinners that I always looked forward to and so enjoyed being with her. She was dedicated and so hard working. I always loved hearing stories about her beloved horse. I was honored to have known Carol. To Michael, Kathy Covington and all those that loved her, may God grant you strength, my most sincere condolences. Sandra Aronson

I was so very saddened to learn of Carol's passing. Though this news came to me belated, I could not pass on the opportunity to speak to how wonderful a person Carol was. Though I only knew her as a client, the time spent with her was enough to say that her presence touched my life. It is rare to find such a giving, kind talent and spirit in the fashion industry and she stood out because she was. A consumate professional who always conducted her work with a touch of class and thoughfulness on all levels, she is greatly missed. I send my bleated condolences to her husband, family and friends who already know she will always be with them in their hearts. How lucky for that. - Suzanne McCoy FItschen
