Obituary of Edward Horbelt
EDWARD HORBELT, 92, of Middletown, passed away on Saturday evening May 14th at the Riverview Medical Center, in Red Bank. Born in Newark, N.J., he lived in Rockaway N.J. for 35 years prior to moving to Middletown 15 years ago. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by M& M Mars Candy Manufacturing in Hackettstown for over 25 years. He was a man of great wit, and loved his family and loved being with them. Mr. Horbelt is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Anna Marie (nee McCarthy), by his daughters Mary Catherine and her husband Daniel O’Connor of Holmdel, and Judith Rawnsley of Tampa who was predeceased by her husband Edward Rawnsley in 1985, by his grandchildren Judith Coyne and her husband Robert, Daniel O’Connor Jr., Brian O’Connor and his wife Kim, John Rawnsley, Susan Rawnsley Griesser and her husband Jason, and Timothy Rawnsley, and by his 6 great grandchildren Matthew, Jacquelyn, Danielle and Audrey Coyne, and Brody O’Connor and Edward Griesser. Visitation will be on Tuesday May 17th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday May 18th at 9:00 AM at St. Catharines R.C.Church, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel. Interment will then follow at St. Gabriel Catholic Cemetery, Route 520, Marlboro. In lieu of flowers donations made in his memory would be appreciated – Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Lady of Peace Residence, 2300 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509.
