Obituary of Matthew J. Greasheimer
Matthew J. Greasheimer, 82, of Lincroft died on Tuesday, Sept. 15th at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Mr. Greasheimer was born and raised in Woodbridge, where he graduated from St. James Grammar School and Woodbridge High School. He and his wife, Marie moved to Lincroft in 1963. Mr. Greasheimer served in the U.S. Army Special Services during the Korean Conflict, serving in Alaska testing missiles. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Braves as a pitcher in the minor leagues. For many years, he was a Driver for Roadway Express. Mr. Greasheimer was a parishioner of Church of St. Catharine, Holmdel and a charter member of the Woodbridge Elks Lodge #2116. Surviving is his wife, Marie E. Greasheimer; two children, Robert Carrdine and his wife Dana and Ronald Carrdine and his wife Diana; his brother, William Greasheimer and his wife Jean; and two grandchildren, Jessie Rae and Wyatt Ty. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 18, 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Sept. 19th, 9:15am, Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum.
