Obituary of Antonio DeMarco
Antonio DeMarco, 87 of Colts Neck died with his family at his side at home on Friday. Mr. DeMarco was born in Trevico, Italy. In 1961 he and his wife Rosa came to the United States with their first two children and settled in the Vailsburg section of Newark where two more of their children were born. The family moved to Hazlet in 1967 and then to Colts Neck in 1980. Soon after arriving in the United States Antonio & Rosa were able to purchase a three family home which they lived in and earned a supplemental income while renting the additional apartments. There they began a dry cleaning and tailoring shop. In America Antonio worked as a Mechanic at Clarke Lift Truck Company. In search of bettering his family, he later went to work for the New York Shipping Association, where he received his certification as an Electro-Mechanic. He was recognized by the Shipping Association for saving several co-worker's lives who were thrown into the cold water following an accident on a nearby ship. Antonio was a parishioner of St. Mary's RC Church, Colts Neck. He was a true family man. Antonio enjoyed cooking for family and friends and working in his yard as well as spending time with his children, grandchildren and involved with all their activities. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosa DeMarco; their children, Vincent DeMarco and his wife Molly Mitchell, Baltimore, Nicola Antonio DeMarco, New York City, Brunella DeMarco-Planenshek and her husband David Planenshek, Whiting and Marlana and Barry M. Hogan, Millstone; 3 grandchildren, Anthony and James DeMarco and Barry A. Hogan. Visitation Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, 4-8 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. Christian Rite of Burial, Wednesday, Jan. 4th, 10:30 am at St. Mary's RC Church, Colts Neck. Entombment Holmdel Mausoleum.
