Obituary of Joseph I. Marigliano
Joseph I. Marigliano, 79 of Howell, went to rest with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 23rd, after a four year courageous battle with cancer and heart disease. He is the son of the late Angelina and Americas Marigliano. Joseph was born and raised in Brooklyn. He lived there Staten Island, Colts Neck and Jackson before moving to Howell last year. He was a partner in the family founded business, Phyllis Baby Wear, Brooklyn, which he retired from after a 50 year career. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine RC Church, Freehold. Joseph was an avid N.Y. Yankee fan and had enjoyed playing baseball himself. During his career in Brooklyn he was fortunate to play with Sandy Koufax, an experience he shared with many. He also enjoyed playing golf at the Monmouth County Park System, with his golf buddies, Andy, Guy and Lonnie. His great joy and passion was his wife, children and grandchildren. He never missed a sporting event or a dance competition and loved every minute of watching his kids. He is survived by his wife, Betty Marigliano; their children, James Marigliano and his wife Colleen, Cold Spring, NY and Joyce Burke and her husband Sean, Howell; his brother Richard Marigliano and his wife Sharon, Wolfeboro, NH; his sister Phyllis Sullivan and her husband Edward, Brick; his six grandchildren, who he cherished, Corinne, Timothy, Jaimee, James, Joseph and Emily; and his many nieces and nephews who he loved to spend uncountable happy times with, he was known to them as ' Mr. Joe'. Visitation, Wed., Oct. 26th, 2-4 and 7-9 pm, at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial, Thurs. Oct. 27th, 11 am, at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum.
