Obituary of John A. Costa
John August Costa, loving husband, father and true friend went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 26, 2018
John was a native of Keyport until he moved to Marlboro in 1998. He was a retired educator from Old Bridge Township from 1958 to 1994. He taught in the Memorial School, then Leroy Gordon Cooper School and Carl Sandburg Middle School. He was a graduate of Fordham University and Rutgers University with a Master’s degree in Education. John was a caring and dedicated teacher who was remembered fondly by his students. An avid Jets fan, he stood by his team in good times and bad.
John was predeceased by his parents Louis J., Sr. and Mary A. Carbone Costa and his brother Louis J. Costa, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife Irene T. Bator Costa and his daughters Irene M. Costa and Marianne C. Guzinski.
John, may the angels lead you to Paradise. We love you more than words can say.
Visitation Wednesday, January 31st 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, February 1st 10:00 am at St. Gabriel’s Church, 100 N. Main Street, Marlboro. Entombment to follow at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
