Obituary of Mary Halleck
Mary Halleck, 92, Holmdel, passed away on Friday, January 26th in the home lovingly built by her husband.
Mary was born in Elizabeth and graduated from Baton High School. Along with her sister Kay, she played basketball for her parish CYO. Mary worked as a secretary at Esso (today known as Exxon-Mobil). She was a long time communicant at St. Benedict’s Church and known as the “Lunch Lady” by many students at St. Benedict’s School. She was an active member of the Bayshore Hospital Auxiliary, where she performed in several plays. She was also a member of the Holmdel Senior Citizens Club.
Mary will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.
She is predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret Laffey, her husband, John Halleck; her siblings, Jack Laffey, Catherine Ryan, and Helen Elliott; and her son-in-law, Kurt Baudendistel. Mary will be dearly missed by her surviving daughters, Margaretann Halleck, Ann Marie Eden and her husband Kenelmn, and Kathleen (Casey) Halleck; her grandchildren, Brian Conor, Tyler John, and Samantha Mary; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation Monday, January 29th 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, January 30th at 10:00 am at St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Rd, Holmdel, NJ. Burial to follow at Saint Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Benedict’s, or the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Foundation, 23 Main Street, Suite D1 Holmdel NJ 07733.
