Obituary of Edith Minerva Gold
Edith Minerva Gold (Orbann), 103, of Farmingdale passed away peacefully Saturday, January 6th at her home.
Edith was born on July 14, 1914 in Newark, NJ. She married her beloved, the late Richard L. Gold on December 1, 1934. Edith was dedicated to God and her church. She worked as a legal secretary for many years. However, her primary love was her devotion to her family.
Known to her family and all that loved her as “Nana” her gentle and genuine kindness was contagious. Family was everything to Edith and she submerged herself in enjoying her family to the fullest. Always present and always generous with her time, her family shares the fondest memories. From her extra special frosted cookies and grilled cheese sandwiches, to helping type her grandchildren’s college paper, to babysitting her great grandchildren, the memories she shared will never be forgotten. Edith was the truest example of how important it is to be with family.
She is predeceased by her husband, Richard L Gold and her grandson Bobby Gold.
Edith is survived by her two children, Arlene Garito of Farmingdale and Robert Gold of Odessa, FL; her seven grandchildren, Cynthia Parenteau and Charles, Colts Neck, Catherine G. Ahlers and Dave, Freehold, Cheryl Joyce and Rick, Freehold, A.J. Garito and Cara, Colts Neck, Sandra Willis and Jeff, FL, Mandy Senn and Gary, SC, Jeffery Gold and Lezlie, FL; her 14 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
