Obituary of Leona Mancino
Leona Mancino, 83 of Manalapan died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 16th.
Mrs. Mancino was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and lived in North Miami Beach, Hallandale and Parkland, Florida for 40 years before moving to Manalapan four years ago.
Leona loved her dogs and all animals. She prided herself on her appearance as well as her beliefs in the power of prayer and her Jewish faith.
She became a widow at a young age and immediately became a mother and father to her children, driving them all to and from school, practices, cooking dinner and just being there for them when they needed her. Her children will always be grateful for the great mother that she was. As life went on, 13 grandchildren came into her life, all of whom she adored.
She had a great sense of humor and often would like her jokes so much she would repeat them. She would also never pass up the opportunity to give a complete stranger a reading, as she believed herself to have psychic and healing abilities. She was also fluent in several languages. Leona was a beautiful woman in all aspects of her life.
Leona was pre-deceased by her husband, Dominic Mancino in 1975.
Surviving are her children, Michael Simpson and his wife Betty, Mark Mancino and his wife Michele, Elizabeth Mancino Augello and Heather Mancino Hedge and thirteen grandchildren.
Visitation Sunday, August 20th, 11:30 until her funeral service at 1:30 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
