Obituary of Maria Coppola
Mrs. Maria Coppola, 84, of Hazlet passed away on Sunday, July 16th, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pompeii, Italy, Maria lived in Jersey City, N.J. for many years prior to moving to Hazlet.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Jersey City Police Department as a Traffic Officer. She was also a devoted volunteer at both St. Paul of the Cross Church in Jersey City and a member of the choir at Holy Family Church in Hazlet.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Coppola. She is survived by her son Carmine and his wife Jane Coppola of Rutherford, N.J., her daughter Rose Jepson and her husband Martin of Hazlet, her grandchildren Jeanette Jepson and her wife Tiana-Marie, Kayla Coppola, Matthew Jepson, and Brandon Coppola, and by her brother Bruno Vilni and his wife Ursula in Italy as well as her loving nieces and nephews here at home in NJ and in Italy.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 19th from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, N.J.
Mass will be offered on Thursday morning at 10:00 AM at Holy Family R.C.Church, 727 State Route 36, Hazlet, N.J. 07735. Entombment will then follow at the Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, Holmdel.
