Despina Rompos, 72 of Manalapan died on Thursday May 4th at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, New Brunswick. Mrs. Rompos was born and raised in Greece. She moved to the United States and has lived in Manalapan for many years. She was a member of Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, Holmdel. She was a devoted loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Rompos is survived by her husband, Demetrios; their children Augoustis and his wife Anna Rompos, Savvas Rompos, and Katina and her husband Chris Churney; her sister Mary Frangopoulos; brothers Simos Trohidis and Tasos Trohidis; and her five grandchildren. Visitation Sunday May 7th, 4 to 8 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. Funeral services Monday May 8th, 11 am at Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 20 Hillcrest Road, Holmdel. Interment will follow at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, 361 Highway Rt. 79, Morganville.
