Obituary of John F. Bomensatt
John F. Bomensatt, 81 of Basking Ridge, passed away Wednesday March 22nd at Wardell
Gardens, Tinton Falls.
John was born and raised in Newark, graduating from Westside High School, earning his Associate Degree and four years of Apprenticeship in Carpentry. He then lived in South Orange moving to Basking Ridge 30 years ago. John served his country honorably in the U.S. Army for 6 years. John was a Professional Firefighter for the City of South Orange for 25 years. He also owned and operated John Bomensatt & Son Construction Company for many years.
John was a volunteer South Orange EMT, a member of the American Legion in Madison &
Florham Park, a member of FMBA Local 500, a member of Retired Police & Firemen’s
Association of New Jersey, a member of the Carpenters Union, a member of the National Law
Enforcement Fund, a member of Essex County Police & Firemen’s Association and a member of the Caldwell Old Guard. John was also a member of the Flemington Elks where is he volunteered his time in helping others. He was very involved with Seton Hall Prep in helping build the sets for their plays and anything else they needed.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann Carmiche; his children and spouses Kenneth & Carey Anne, Karen & Jeff, Laura & George and ten grandchildren Michael, Jonathan, Christopher, Kenneth, Ashleyrose, Kaitlynne, Aaron, MacKenzie, Evan and Ryann.
