Obituary of Harold H. Hoffman
Harold H. Hoffman died Monday, March 6th, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.
Harold was born in 1923 in New York City and lived in Bellerose, Long Island and Plainfield, NJ before settling 43 years ago in Holmdel.
Mr. Hoffman served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Harold retired after 44 years as a member of the Technical Staff at Bell Telephone Laboratories where he worked on early microwave radio systems, radio propagation and mobile radio.
He was a member of the Holmdel Fire Co. # 1, Red Bank Elks, the American Legion, and he did volunteer work with AT&T Telephone Pioneers and at the Sandy Hook National Park as a tour guide. He was a parishioner of St. Catherine's RC Church in Holmdel.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Virginia; their two sons, Richard and his wife Linda of Eldorado Hills, CA. and John and his wife Carol of Holmdel, their two children, Douglas and his wife Carolyn of Rutherford and Dana Bennett and her husband Tyler of Colts Neck, and their daughter Maddison Hope.
Visitation is Thursday, March 9th, 4 to 7 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel and mass of Christian burial, Friday March 10th, 10 am, St. Gabriel's Historic Church, Rt. 520, Marlboro.
