Obituary of Alphonse S Galizia
U.S.Army Veteran - World War II Alphonse S. Galizia, 93, of Brick passed away at his home on Friday, October 2, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived there for many years before moving to Brick, NJ. He served in the U.S.Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the NYC Dept. of Sanitation in Brooklyn. Alphonse was dedicated to his family, and his family was everything to him. He was beloved by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary in 2003, and by his son in law Stanley Jurecki. He is survived by his daughters Josephine Friebely and her husband Dan, and May Jurecki, by his grandchildren Gina Jurecki, Jill Jurecki and her husband Peter, and Mary Ann Reilley and her husband Todd, and by his great grandchildren Nicholas, Christian and Jenna Polaco, and Zachary Reilley , and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Visitation will be at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ today, Sunday October 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday October 5th at 9:30 AM at the Holy Family R.C.Church, Route 36, Hazlet, NJ. Interment will then follow at the Holmdel Cemetery.
