Obituary of James L. Wagar
James L. Wagar, 81 of Farmingdale, died at his home on Friday, March 25th. Mr. Wagar was born and raised in Port Chester, NY. He enrolled at Fordham University and was graduated in 1956 with a BS in Business Administration. Following his graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1964. He went to work at All-State Insurance Co., where he met his wife Rita, they were married on May 28th, 1960. During his early career with a young family at home, Jim attended night school at NYU and was awarded his MBA in 1966. Jim joined Sealtest Foods, where he became the Treasurer in 1970. He remained there until he joined Carter -Wallace Pharmaceuticals and he later became Vice-President and Treasurer until his retirement in 2001. During his career he studied Financial Management at Harvard University and graduated in 1972. In his retirement Jim’s main enjoyment was to be involved with his ten grandchildren’s daily lives. He and Rita wintered in Leesburg, Fl and enjoyed many days at Disney World. They enjoyed Broadway shows and all local theatre. He was History aficionado. Jim above all was a spiritual man and he was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Colts Neck. Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Rita; their children, Peter and Anne Wagar, Neptune, Alba Flynn, Colts Neck, Paul and Alba Wagar, Colts Neck and Anthony Wagar, Colts Neck; his sister and brother-in-law, Leone and Richard Ugolik, Conn.; his ten grandchildren, Avery, Paul, Corey, Christian, Gina, James, Dylan, Michael, Albasofia and Valentina. Visitation Monday, March 28th, 4 to 8 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. Funeral mass 12 noon, St. Mary’s Church, Colts Neck.
