Obituary of George T. Zigich
George T. Zigich 85, of Middletown passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Born in Luzerne, PA George lived in Newark, NJ prior to moving to Middletown in 1965. Mr. Zigich worked for 15 years as a Black Seal Engineer for the Hazlet Twp. Board of Education, retiring in 1990. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII having served from 1941-1943. George was a member of the VFW, Emanon Fishing Club, and the Blue Jeans Athletic League, all of Keansburg. Surviving are his wife Helen T. Zigich (nee Ashford), his children Linda and Vin Dumchus, Carol and Len De Pinto, Mick and Joan Zigich, Ed and Deb Zigich, Gary and Dawn Zigich, Roseanne and John Cittadino, and Ellen Taddeo, one brother, Stephen, 6 sisters, Mary, Ann, Helen, Mildred, Sophie, and Betty, 24 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday 10:15AM at St. Ann's R.C. Church, Keansburg. Interment will be in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society 6725 Lyons Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13057.
