Obituary of Lottie R. Rec
Lottie R. Rec, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, October 18, 2015, at the Willows in Holmdel, New Jersey. She was born Lottie R. Lewandowski on September 13, 1918 in Bayonne, New Jersey, where she grew up and where she worked at Western Electric. At Western Electric she met a sister of the man she was introduced to and fell madly in love with and married in 1945. Joseph was the absolute love of her life for 65 years. Lottie and Joseph lived in Bloomfield, New Jersey for many years before moving to Clinton, Maryland for several years. She and Joseph retired to Crestwood Village in Whiting, New Jersey for 25 years before moving to the Willows in Holmdel in 2006. Lottie was a fabulous baker and both family and friends always enjoyed very special treats. She was especially accomplished with traditional Polish recipes and a master of cookies and cakes for all occasions. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Helen and Stanly Lewandowski and her husband, Joseph R. Rec. Also by her sister and brother-in-law, Angela and William Palace, and her brother and sister-in-law, Ignatius and Felicia Lewandowski. Lottie is survived by her loving niece, Patricia Kole and her husband Albert Kole of Aberdeen, New Jersey and her nephew, Robert Palace and his wife Diane Palace of Palmyra, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her cherished great nieces and nephews, Kelly Reid and her husband Jim, Shelly Howard and her husband Matt, Michael Palace and his wife Cathleen and Matthew Palace. And her adored great grandnephews, Mason Palace, Colin Palace and Gavin Reid. Family meant the world to Lottie and she was ALWAYS there for everyone. She will be very sadly missed but never, ever forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 am on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lottie, may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
