Obituary of Dorothy Rose Lamken
Dorothy Rose Lamken, 94, Lincroft, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Nov. 17, 2010 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was born and raised in Newark, NJ. She married her husband, John Charles Lamken and moved from Newark to Lincroft to raise her family. Dorothy worked for 20 years as an accounting clerk for the New Jersey Highway Authority and Garden State Arts Center. She was a founding member of the Lincroft Fire Department Lady’s Auxiliary and past President of the Lincroft PTA. Dorothy was a member of the Lincroft Community Church. She was truly devoted to her family and enjoyed creating a warm and loving home for all to visit. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, traveling, but most of all spending quality time with her family and friends. Dorothy was a beautiful person inside and out, was loved by all for her beautiful smile, upbeat personality, generosity and she was an inspiration to everyone. Dorothy was predeceased by her mother and father, John and Edna Mantz; sister, Edna Gedhardt; husband, John Lamken and granddaughter Tracy Lamken. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Gebhardt and husband, Charles; Diane Frantz and husband, Robert; son, Wayne Lamken and wife, Lynn; grandson, Dwayne Lamken; granddaughters, Kimberly Ploskonka and Rebecca Clark, and three beautiful great grandchildren, Alexa Lynn Ploskonka, Landon John Lamken, and Abigail Rose Clark. A private funeral for family was held and a memorial service is being planned with a date to be announced later.
