Obituary of Mary Archibald

Mary Archibald 88, of Parlin passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge. Born in Brooklyn, NY Mary moved to Aberdeen in 1961, Lakewood in 1995, and Old Bridge over 2 years ago. Mrs. Archibald was the Secretary to the Dean of Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, retiring in 1989. She was a former parishioner of St. Benedict R.C. Church in Holmdel. She loved to travel, especially with her husband and his college alumni friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary also was an avid bowler and enjoyed golf. He was predeceased by her husband of 52 years Robert in 2005. Surviving are her 4 sons and their wives, Peter and Maureen of the Parlin section of Old Bridge, NJ, Paul and Christine, of Aberdeen, NJ, Bruce and Sandra of Loveland, OH, and Scott and Gail of Tampa, FL, and a daughter Pamela Strenk and her husband Frank of St. Charles, IL, a brother Robert Brown of Lakewood, NJ, and 13 grandchildren Meghan Strenk, Ryan, Andrew Strenk, Kristin, Caitlin, Sarah, Connor, Leslie, Kevin, Melanie, Thomas, James, and Bryce. Visitation will be held Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday 10:00AM at St. Benedict R.C. Church, Holmdel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mrs. Archibald's name to your favorite charity.
