Dear Fran & all of Jim's family, Our prayers are with you during this challenging time you all are faced with. Please know my late husband, Eric Reinertsen, was so extremely proud to have Jim as not only a boss but as a dear friend. He truly was blessed with his friendship and guidance throughout his time with Schiavone Construtction. I will always remember Jim's wonderful smile and gentle soul that he had when I would see him. His eyes would light up with such life and his smile would go on forever with such passion at whatever he was talking about or engaging in. We all were blessed to have known Jim and to be in his presence. Bless you all during this so difficult time. My love to you Fran. and please know I'm here if you ever need as I truly understand your grief. Marianne, Sarah & Megan Reinertsen

I was lucky enough to get to know Jim because he was married to my wife's Aunt and became the beloved stepdad to her two cousins. What I will always remember when I think of Jim was his warm welcoming smile and generosity. If you were lucky enough to visit the Hamill house you were immediatly enveloped by Jim making you feel at home. A warm greeting, a cold beer, as much food as one possibly consume, but more than anything an individual that wanted nothing more than for one to have a good time with family and friends. He and Fran would make their home and beautiful pool available to my children and genuinely enjoy their company. He really enoyed the simple aspect of loving family unconditionally and he showed that in every interaction I ever had with him. Not a mean bone in his body, never a bad thing to say about anyone, or anything. I think we could all learn a lot from the way Jim carried himself through life, a true gentleman! I never had the chance to tell Jim how much I respected and thought of him, so at least now I want to say that he will be dearly missed and was surely loved by all who were lucky enough to get to know him. I will miss you Jim, rest in peace, if anyone deserves that you do! I love you Jim! God bless! Rob Senna and the Senna Family, Sue, Alisa & Nicloe

I met Jim Hamill twenty-nine years ago when I first met my friend, Fran. Jim was truly a gentle man, kind, generous, supporting every charity he believed in. He loved his family and often shared stories about his life, being an only child, and his stories about the businesses he was involved in. Of course, Fran and I spent more time together, but over the years, my husband, Tom, and Jim became friends, sharing their interests in woodworking, gardening, the outdoors. Just about every Friday night, the four of us would have dinner together which were always good times, lots of jokes, good food, followed by a glass or two of port for the guys either at our house or theirs. Of course, I still have my friend, Fran, whom I hope I can help through this very difficult time, but we, Tom and I, have wonderful memories of a dear man who would drop whatever he was doing to help anyone. Rest in peace, Jim. You are loved!

My fondest memories of James Hamill go back more than 25 years ago, for as long as I've known him. When his son Louis, my Best Man, brought me to the house Jim and his wife Fran had built in Colts Neck. I remember being in awe of the home, the attention to detail, and absolute perfection with which everything was crafted. The house is symbol of the love of family that Jim had always had. He and his wife Fran would open their home to all of their friends and family year after year. This was the way Jim wanted it. He had built a home where he could be surrounded by his family and friends. Although they had never met, I believe Jim and my own father were kindered spirits. They shared the same ideals and values that I have grown to live by to this day. Jim always made me and my wife Janice, and our 3 children feel welcome and important, and as if we were part of his extended family. I have nothing but the utmost respect, love, and admiration for this great Father, Businessman, and Friend. May he rest in peace with God for all eternity. I know my father and Jim have finally met in Heaven. Sincerely, Joseph Fortunato

I fondly remember Jim's creativity when equipment or projects faced problems; he could come up with a solution to the relief of everyone. He even traced 2 stolen Cat dump trucks to NYC and retrieved one..the other was stripped for parts! One of his biggest challenges was the assignment to Nigeria and his tales of calling home with a gun toting guard next to him. May he rest in peace knowing he left a beautiful family behind.
