Barbara Varga Lambert, 73, of Colts Neck passed away on November 3rd, 2015. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Born in 1942 in Phillipsburg, NJ, Barbara graduated from Trenton State College, and began a career as a teacher for 37 years in Old Bridge Township. Barbara was a dedicated parishioner at St. Mary's Church in Colts Neck. She served the Lazarus bereavement group helping many families and was an active volunteer both in the church and the Colts Neck community for over 20 years. Barbara was also an avid animal lover. She raised Scottie dogs and showed them as well as being involved in animal rescue. Barbara is predeceased by her beloved husband of 10 years Francis H Lambert; her parents Joseph S. Varga and Teresa Kozare Varga; brothers Michael Varga & Joseph G. Varga Jr.; and her brother-in-law Jack Conkey. Surviving are her sister Marianne Conkey's family of Easton, PA; brother David R. & Linda Varga's family of Phillipsburg, brother Glen D. & Gloria Varga's family of Philipsburg, NJ; sister-in-law Teresa Varga & family of Phillipsburg; step-children Linda & Barry Carkeek of Atlantic Highlands, Tom Lambert of Old Bridge, and John & Patti Lambert of Lincroft; 7 step-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews; best friend Joyce Phillips, and her loving and most dear puppies, Tasha & Portia. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd., Holmdel, NJ, on Monday November 9th, 2015 from 9:30-11 a.m. A Mass will be celebrated at noon at St Mary's R.C. Church, Colts Neck.
