Obituary of Ann Koelble
Ann Koelble, of Holmdel passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Union, Ann raised her family in Hillside and resided in Holiday City prior to moving to Holmdel one year ago. Mrs. Koelble worked as a Secretary for Baker & Taylor in Hillside, and prior to that she worked as a supervisor for the War Department during World War II. Ann was very active in Veteran's Organizations. She was the Former President of the VFW Post, Hillside, a member and Former President of the Hillside DAV, and originated and supervised the Junior DAV for girls in Hillside. Among her activities she conducted numerous parties at Veterans Hospitals and visited childrens orphanages. Mrs. Koelble was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed living at Holiday City where she enjoyed the company of her neighbors and was active in many clubs. During the past month she enjoyed going to the We Care Adult Care in Middletown, where she made wonderful friends and was cared for by a caring and compassionate staff. The family would also like to thank her wonderful caretakers Stacey, Denise, Jim, Ethel, Nancy, Kathy, Justina, and Di. Ann was predeceased by her parents Wasil and Mary Michalak, 3 brothers Nicholas, Peter, and Samuel Mihalak, and 4 sisters Mary Furiness, Eve Maguire, Mildred Thiery, and Helen Spinner. Surviving are her 2 daughters Carol Ann Koelble, and Joyce Luciani and her husband Gene, brother Harold Mihalak, 2 grandchildren Jeff and Heather Luciani, 2 sisters-in-law Ursula and Carolyn and numerous nieces and nephews.
